Boys Teams

Youth-Jr High-High School

overview

Our Team Oklahoma Boys program is one of the fastest growing programs in the region.  We offer teams for all levels of players.  Our goal is to provide a place where players can grow and develop their games through our skill training, team concept work, and competitive play. We want to be a supplement to the high school programs in the state, we want to see the girls in our program be successful for their high school programs and then if they desire go on to play at the next level.

History and overview

The Team Oklahoma Basketball Club was originally founded in 1999 as Sports City U Basketball Academy.  As the years progressed and tournament play became more prevalent, there was a growing need to form teams.  With the help of skilled coaches, the SCU Hoops and SCU Force teams were formed. After several years running the program out of the Lighthouse Sports and Fitness Center the team program grew to over 35 teams.

In 2009 the WNBA Detroit Shock were purchased by a group in Oklahoma and moved the team to Tulsa.  During this transition the Tulsa Shock bought the rights to SCU and started the Shock Basketball Academy and the Oklahoma Shock team program. This program grew in Tulsa as well as OKC.  Coach Crawford and Coach Wagner continued to lead the program until 2014 when the Shock moved to Dallas and became the Dallas Wings. It was at this time Coach Crawford and Coach Wagner regained ownership and rebranded as the Oklahoma Basketball Academy and Team Oklahoma.

In 2021 Logan LaRue was hired as the boy's director, since then the Team Oklahoma Boys have grown continuously every year under his leadership. Durning this time both boys and girls have gone on to play and compete at every level of college basketball and many have returned to coach in the program and/or have become high school and college coaches.
